  • CLC Playground Project

The CLC Playground has been around for as long as anybody can remember. Not having an exact date, we estimate parts of the large structure to be about 20 years old with updates and removals around 2002. The playground has looked and functioned better in years past and needs help. So much help, that a committee comprised of teachers, administrators, educational specialists, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists and physical therapists have decided that it would be best to completely remove, gut, get rid of the existing play structure and old ramps and replace them with new, more functional, more inclusive, safer, modern equipment.  With new equipment and improved accessibility, our playground will once again be a playground for all abilities. A playground where students in equipment such as manual wheelchairs, power wheelchairs, standers, gait trainers, kid walks, etc. can play alongside their more able bodied peers and experience the joy of PLAY!

We are in the early stages of a very BIG project, and in time will be asking for your HELP!

So far we have met with a few playground companies and are in the process of looking at new equipment, plans for our school playground and some very BIG numbers. Once a company is chosen, we will be sharing our Dream Playground plans with everyone!

As we said earlier, this is a HUGE project that will NEED a LOT of SUPPORT!! You can help by spreading the word, liking our Facebook page and visiting our link on the CLC website for updates. Look for our fundraising opportunities and ways you can help. They will be coming up fast!

Finally, if you have any connections that may help us in fundraising, please do not hesitate to contact us! Eventually, we will need help with demolition, tree removal and tons of other things!
